1913 Craftsman Bungalow
The craftsman that started it all– aka my home. Sometimes people ask, “What did you do?” But the better question is what didn’t get done… because in a 6-week sprint, we did everything we could to have the house be livable, and it’s been a process of slow design ever since. The funny thing is, through it all, the house still feels fundamentally the same to me. I’m still very spookily influenced by Ms. Whitis, the woman who lived here for 45 years before we bought the house. Her family is still very involved in our lives and they agree that they can still see her in our choices. We’re honored to have her spirit guiding the future of the house that held so many memories of family, togetherness, and personal style.
