quilts are back, baby and not just for babies
plus my favorite places to find them
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but quilts are having a moment.
Correction: quilts have always been having a moment, but now the rest of the design world has finally caught up.
They’re cozy. They’re soulful. They’re a rebellion against bland interiors and a love letter to craft. And they’re a reminder that a home should feel like it’s wrapped around you.
I grew up making quilts with my grandma, but it was a bit of guilty pleasure. Same with watching secret perfect movie, How To Make an American Quilt.
But those in the know know that Quilts are art, history, and color theory—all stitched into one beautiful object. They bring dimension, story, and unexpected edge to a room.
So if you’re ready to lean into the quilt revival, here are my personal favorite places to find one worth cherishing:
Slow Roads
Modern quilts with vintage soul. Slow Roads makes pieces that feel timeless and current all at once. Their color palettes are perfectly moody, and each quilt has that wonderful weight you only get from hand craftsmanship. Think of them as future heirlooms you’ll never want to stash in a closet.
Pelican Quilts
Pelican Quilts curates a glorious mix of antique and vintage quilts, from bold geometric patterns to soft, sun-faded florals. Their selection is a masterclass in color—great for adding a vibrant focal point to a room or draping over the back of a timeworn sofa for instant “collected over time” vibes.
Cats on Quilts
One part antique quilt dealer, one part joyful chaos. Cats on Quilts always has fascinating finds, including rare patterns and colors you don’t see every day. Perfect for those of us who want a quilt that’s slightly quirky—and, yes, often comes with actual cat content on their Instagram feed, which feels on brand for me.
The Six Bells
This charming New York shop feels like an English country cottage dream, and their quilt collection is no exception. They carry new and vintage quilts that look equally fabulous thrown over a four-poster bed or used as a tablecloth for an impromptu garden lunch. A bit romantic, a bit practical—a very Restoration Ryann mix.
Cindy’s Antique Quilts
Cindy is a legend in the quilt world, and for good reason. She sources incredible antique quilts—many in pristine condition, and others with just enough wear to feel authentically loved. Her website reads like a quilt museum, but every piece is for sale. If you’re hunting for a true 19th-century masterpiece, start here.

Folkling
Folkling is my go-to for modern interpretations of traditional quilting. Their designs lean contemporary but always keep one foot in heritage. Think unexpected color pairings, graphic shapes, and a level of craftsmanship that makes your minimalist white comforter feel a little embarrassed.
Rose Bowl Flea Market
Listen: some of my favorite quilts came from flea market bins. Last but by no means least, the Rose Bowl Flea is nothing short of a treasure trove. While you used to have to dig through piles of polyester nightmares, now vendors have them front and center. No need to unearth a hand-pieced marvel in vintage calicos… they’re organized by color and era thanks to this resurgence in folksy appeal.
How I Style Quilts
Layer them over sofas or armchairs for texture and color.
Fold one at the foot of the bed instead of a bulky duvet.
Hang one on a wall for instant art.
Toss one over a dining table for an unexpected tablescape.
Use one as a photography backdrop (trust me—gorgeous).
My favorite is draping over an antique men’s clothing valet. Taller and a better shape than so many quilt racks and has an air of the debonair.
Quilts aren’t just bedding. They’re character. They’re conversation starters. They’re evidence that someone’s hands made something beautiful—and that your home can be both stylish and deeply human.
So go forth and quilt. And if you snag a great one, send me a pic. I’ll probably ask to come over and see it in person.
Do you have a favorite quilt source I should know about? Drop it in my DMs —I’m always on the hunt.
