In our work, we see a house not as a blank canvas, but as a palimpsest—a layered manuscript of living. Every room holds echoes. Every surface bears the soft residue of past lives: footsteps worn into floorboards, mismatched nails in a plaster wall, the outline of a long-gone medicine cabinet etched in light.
These marks aren’t flaws. They’re evidence—that someone once lived here, loved here, changed here.
We don’t erase that. We compose with it.

Where others might sand away, strip down, or “refresh” to a sterile newness, we choose instead to attend to what’s already there—shadows of hardware, patchwork repairs, original paint glimpsed beneath decades.

Led by award-winning writer turned designer, Ryann Ferguson, Restoration Ryann is a boutique interior design and construction studio rooted in Los Angeles and working across the U.S. and abroad. Ryann’s work has earned her a reputation for restraint, precision, and charm — welcomed by everyone from millennial homeowners to British aristocrats.
Today, Restoration Ryann sits at the intersection of storytelling and interior design, as part of the founder’s creative company, littlewow studios. New offerings will soon include digital and bespoke products, as well as community events.

Our time together was such a success because of trust. Having been in many homes of Ryann's over the years, I knew that her taste and mine were extremely aligned and that she would do whatever was within her power to get me results I was happy with. Ryann also included me in decision making the whole way through the process so I felt like I was always heard and valued. The trust we build also meant that if I were at a crossroads and didn't know what decision to make design-wise, she could make one and I would trust her, which was such a relief.
